Ilya Levin earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering in 1987 from the Institute of Computer Technologies at the Latvian Academy of Science. Following his graduation, he became the Head of the Computer Science Department at the Leningrad Institute of New Technologies in 1987. Between 1993 and 1997, he served as the Head of the Computer Systems Department at the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) in Israel. In 1997, he held a position as a Research Fellow in the Computer Science Department at the University of Massachusetts. Levin was an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering, Bar Ilan University, from 2003 to 2006. He has been a visiting professor at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Italy, and Aix-Marseille Université, France, in 2014, 2018, and 2022, respectively. Since 2013, Prof. Ilya Levin has been a Full Professor at the School of Education at Tel Aviv University. He is currently the Head of the School of Computer Science at HIT. His research interests have evolved to encompass Computer Design, the Philosophy of Digital Technology, and Artificial Intelligence in Education. Prof. Levin has authored over 200 research papers across the disciplines of Computer Engineering and Humanities.
